India have made two changes for the fifth and final T20I against England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, with teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi left out of the playing XI.Saint Samson replaced Sooryavanshi, while all-rounder Suryansh Shedge came in for Washington Sundar as India looked to end the series on a positive note after already conceding an unassailable 3-0.At the draw, captain Shreyas Iyer explained that the management of the team wanted to try different combinations rather than resting on the result of the series.“I just want them to give one hundred percent effort, regardless of the result. I just want them to have a solid set of mentality where they just go in and try to get the best of themselves, rather than sulking or being in that situation where you’re a little rushed out of the game, give it some time, relax, take a breath. So just be in the moment and stop thinking about what happened or what will happen,” he said to the toss. When asked about the changes, Iyer said, “We have two changes. Suryansh Shedge in for Washington and Sanju Samson coming in for Sooryavanshi. I feel this is the time we need to prove what is best for us going forward as a team. So based on that, we have decided this.”Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut on the tour, suffered a tough outing in England after showing promise in Ireland. India opted to give Samson an opportunity in the series finale as they assessed their options ahead of the upcoming assignments. After winning the toss, India chose to bowl first, but England’s batsmen took full advantage of the conditions. joss butler smashed 131 off 64 balls, while captain Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 95 while the hosts piled up 257/3 in 20 overs. The pair shared a 233-run stand for the second wicket after Phil Salt’s early dismissal. For India, Shivam Dube took two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna claimed one.
