As per Sacnilk’s trade estimates, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has earned over Rs 16 crore from first-day bookings across India, including locked seats. The film’s domestic pre-sales stood at Rs 163.3 crore as of Tuesday morning, mainly driven by its Tamil version. The Tamil version alone has sold over 417,000 tickets across 5,091 shows and earned Rs 1,130 crore. Tamil Nadu emerged as the largest market with pre-sales of Rs 674 crore, followed by Karnataka (Rs 488 crore) and Kerala (Rs 180 crore). Telugu and Hindi versions have also started accepting pre-orders, although their contributions are still relatively small.
“Jana Nayagan” lags behind “Leo” and “GOAT” in advance bookings
Jana Nayagan created a lot of buzz, but the advance booking figures were not on par with Vijay’s earlier blockbusters. The advance ticket sales of “Leo” are worth around Rs 46.36 crore, while “The Greatest Movie of All Time” (GOAT) has collected Rs 298.3 crore in domestic advance ticket sales before the first day. Unlike these films, the booking trend for Jana Nayagan is gradual rather than an immediate sell-out. Even so, industry experts believe the film still has enough time to witness a surge in last-minute bookings. Current projections suggest that the first-day box office collection in India will be Rs 50-60 crore, although the final figure may go up based on audience response in the next two days.
