Now, the veteran performer is making an extremely rare public appearance, one of the few times he’s been spotted since his diagnosis became public.According to Hello Magazine, Bruce Willis was spotted riding a bike near Studio City in Los Angeles on July 19, an extremely rare appearance for the actor. The 71-year-old looked relaxed in the passenger seat, wearing a blue jacket and navy trucker hat. The outing comes amid Willis’ ongoing health battle, which has resulted in Willis losing much of his ability to speak due to a brain disease.

In 2022, Bruce was initially diagnosed with aphasia, before his family realized his condition was more serious. Misdiagnosis indicates that this neurological disorder is complex and difficult for medical professionals to diagnose correctly.His wife of 17 years, Emma Hemingrecently clarified on The Bosssticks Podcast that Bruce does not have memory issues, but that his speech is affected by the condition. “The variant in Bruce affects language, but there’s another variant that affects behavior, and there’s another variant that might affect movement,” she said. “It’s a different part of the brain. So when people say ‘Oh, you know, does he remember who you are?'” Well, he does that because he doesn’t have Alzheimer’s; he has FTD.She continued: “I think it’s a very common misconception that when you think of dementia, we think of memory loss.”
