He recalled the invitation he received while in London about three years ago and said it took him a while to be convinced.“I was in London when Welcome offered me its services. This was three years ago. Ahmed called me and I was very excited. When we met, he told me who was in the movie. I’m a little confused. Over the next few months, after hearing this story and my character, I concluded that I was safe in his hands. So it’s a process, not an immediate green flag. It took me a while to believe that I was in good hands. Ahmed was the catalyst for me to make this film. When it’s him, there’s a lot of trust and blind faith. He was the choreographer for my first film,” he told Screen. Looking back on the atmosphere during the shoot, Tusshar described the set as lively and full of camaraderie, like a bustling university cafeteria where everyone mingled freely.“You can’t describe the chemistry on the set. There were so many actors and it was like everyone was hanging out together. Everyone was looking for their own comfort zone. It felt like the way filmmaking used to be done, like Mughal-e-Azam or Rajkumar Kohli films, where there were multiple stars. It felt like a party was happening. Ahmed wants everyone to be happy. It feels like a college cafeteria. “As someone who understands filmmaking from both the creative and business sides, Tushar says the scale of a production often leaves him calculating costs in his head. Although he admired Ahmed Khan’s ambition, the rows of trucks and the huge workforce made him doubt the practicality of such an investment.“When I arrived on the set, it took five minutes to get to our makeup van because we had to go through this long line of vans. I used to just look at the vans and wonder what the cost per day was for so many vans and a crew for each one. Is it really worth bringing so many actors? I used to wonder, while Ahmed had the vision and he was bringing a new genre that had never been tried in India, was it really justified to have so many actors and do so many kharchas? Ahmed was convinced that he needed everyone in every shot. It was a year after filming “Welcome”. When filming resumed, it never occurred to him to shoot with only live actors. He stood his ground and finished the film. “Tusshar is also involved in the ongoing discussion about the cost of entourage in the entertainment industry. While he acknowledges that a certain level of comfort is necessary to get the best out of an actor, he stresses that there should be a reasonable limit.“There has to be a balance. Some of these costs, even if they feel a little exorbitant, are necessary. You need a hairstylist, a makeup artist. You need some perks. You need some comfort, space and luxury to really give your best, given the pressure that the lead actor or actress is under. It’s a visual medium, so to project that beauty, you need some kharcha and pampering. That’s fine. But there is a limit. It shouldn’t go beyond the basics to the point of being vain to the point of being narcissistic. This shouldn’t be done to satisfy your ego. This is not good. “
