Maruti SuzukiThe upcoming Brezza facelift has secured a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test. The brand was very successful in protecting both adults and children, strengthening its safety credentials ahead of its market launch. The results apply to all models, although the ZXI+ 1.5-liter 6AT model was used for testing. In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test, the Brezza scored 30.41 out of a possible 32 points. It scored 14.41 out of 16 in the passive barrier test and a perfect 16 out of 16 in the dynamic barrier test. In the frontal crash test, the driver’s head, neck, hips, thighs and feet were rated as receiving good protection, while the chest and tibiae were rated as providing adequate protection. For front riders, all critical areas received good protection except for the tibiae, which was rated as adequate. The compact SUV also fared well in the side-by-side evaluation. All the tests of both sides of the movable barrier and the sensitivity of the column recorded good protection for the head, chest, abdomen and waist of the occupants, while the side evaluation received a verdict of “Good”.In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Brezza scored 43 out of 49 points, earning another five stars. It scored 24 out of 24 in the crash test and 12 out of 12 in the child restraint system (CRS). The number of cars was 7 out of 13. These crash tests were performed using rear-facing child restraint systems on 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies. All child occupants received eight points of excellence in the frontal impact test and four points in the side impact test, indicating strong protection for young passengers.
