Jeep India has launched the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition to celebrate 85 years of the SUV brand. Based on the premium Overland model, this special edition will be produced in a limited run of just 85 units for the Indian market. Prices start at Rs 36.05 lakh, ex-showroom, while the updated version of the Jeep Meridian with the new CARA AI voice assistant now starts at Rs 30.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The commemorative edition gets a number of cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the regular SUV. On the outside, it features special 85th Anniversary styling and black 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features a black theme combined with elegant Mayan Gold accents and contrasts. Buyers can also customize their SUVs through the 85th Anniversary AXS packages, which include items such as carpet floors, anniversary decals, ambient lighting and Sky Lounge sunroof lighting. The highlight of this special edition is the introduction of CARA AI, Stellantis’ intelligent voice assistant, on Meridian. The system supports natural voice conversations and can perform functions such as navigation, weather updates, reminders, phone calls, music playback, informational questions and control of designated vehicles. Jeep says the assistant supports 52 languages, including several Indian languages, to make the vehicle information easier. Essentially, the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and customers can choose between all-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The limited edition model is available for booking through authorized Jeep dealerships across India and on the company’s official website.
