Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has pulled off one of its biggest disappointments in recent years, unveiling a range of 10 motorcycles for the Indian market. The new line consists of seven new models and three updated models with new models, with several segments including scooters, roadsters, cruisers, touring motorcycles, electric mobility and variable fuel technology. The company said the product will be introduced gradually, with prices and detailed timelines to be announced closer to the market. Of particular interest is Honda’s multi-brand approach, which combines internal combustion engine (ICE), electric and flex-fuel technology under one umbrella. Taking the lead in the scooter world is the new Honda ADV 160. Powered by a 160cc water-cooled engine, it will be the first scooter in India to run on E85 fuel and will feature a class-leading 8.1-litre fuel tank along with 27-litre under-seat storage. The company has also introduced the new CB 500, a retro-inspired road bike powered by a 501cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with an oil cooler. It will be offered in three variants, including alloy wheels, tubeless spoked wheels and a tubeless spoked version with graphics. Along with this, Honda refreshed the CB350, CB350C and CB350RS with new model options while retaining their existing engine. Honda has expanded its cruiser portfolio with the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500. The Rebel 300 is powered by a 286cc liquid-cooled engine and will be offered in Standard and E-Clutch variants. The bigger Rebel 500 uses a 471cc liquid-cooled twin-turbo engine and will also be available with Honda’s E-Clutch technology, which works automatically to make shifting between gears easier. Adventure enthusiasts will also get two new models like XR 300L and XR 300 Rally. The XR 300L is aimed at riders looking for a lightweight two-wheeled motorcycle for city use and weekend trips. It is powered by a 293.5cc air-cooled engine with an oil cooler. The XR 300 Rally builds on the same platform but is designed for long distance travel and mixed terrain, with advanced styling and equipment. Honda has expanded its portfolio of electric vehicles with the new QC3 family scooter. Equipped with a 3 kWh battery pack, the electric scooter claims an IDC certified range of 151 km. It can be charged up to 80 percent in 2 hours and 40 minutes and comes with a 32-liter underseat storage compartment, Smart Key and a 5-inch TFT display with connected devices.
