Meghan Markle’s latest family vacation photo sparks online backlash
Meghan Markle recently shared a series of photos on her Instagram account of her vacation with Prince Harry and their children. While many compared the photos to Princess Diana’s famous vacation photos from the 1990s, many began to debate just how insensitive they were. Many criticized the “Suits” actress for going public with a very personal family moment. A family of four also reportedly visited Princess Diana’s final resting place at her childhood home in Althorp. Markle posted the photos with the caption, “Summer vacation.” One of the photos shows the family walking among greenery, with Archie and Prince Harry holding flowers while Lilibet approaches her mother.Since the actress shared this particular photo on her account, many people online have expressed their displeasure with her, commenting that the photo appears to be Princess Diana’s final resting place. One person commented that it was “disrespectful, exploitative and vulgar,” while another shared, “Harry and the boys both had huge bouquets – wondering what to do in Althorp? So #MeghanMarkle literally posted a photo of them on their way to #PrincessDiana’s grave. Wow. How disrespectful, exploitative and gross. She posted a truly intimate and personal family moment on her public influencer platform for the world to see. I’m sure in the numerous photos she took in Althorp, she wanted you to know she was at Diana and Harry’s graves. “Many people have commented on similar things online, with some even questioning how Princess Diana’s brother Charles, who still lives in their ancestral home, would allow such a photo to be shared on social media. However, some Markle supporters shared the photos online, with one commenting that haters were exaggerating the situation. Another supporter commented: “They are not angry that Meghan ended up posting these photos. Quite the contrary, they’ve been begging for this information, refreshing Instagram every hour for weeks. They are angry because the photos undermine weeks of false claims that Meghan and the children never came to the UK. “As of this writing, the Duchess of Sussex has yet to comment on the backlash.
