Speaking after India’s series win, vice-captain Tilak Varma admitted that the triumph was a relief after the disappointment of the previous two series. He credited Ishan’s aggressive innings for setting the tone, highlighted the importance of Iyer’s quick-fire contribution and revealed his determination to develop into a reliable all-rounder by regularly contributing two or three overs.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will be hoping to end the series on a positive note after struggling to match India’s intensity. Brian Bennett showed glimpses of his potential but the hosts failed to build substantial partnerships with bat or ball.
With the series decided, Sunday’s contest offers India an ideal opportunity to experiment while maintaining winning momentum ahead of a packed international schedule.
