The “Hate That I Made You Love Me” singer is officially taking legal action against individuals who hacked into the accounts of people she collaborates with. TMZ reports that she filed a formal complaint in California on Monday, July 27. According to reports, the singer has been the victim of similar cyber attacks and hackers on several occasions and hopes to use this complaint to expose all individuals involved.Content leaked on the dark web includes unreleased music, photos, videos, and recordings. Hackers accessed the accounts of people she worked with through illegal means, resulting in the “unlawful and egregious theft, distribution and exploitation of unpublished content.” The report also revealed that all of this content, which was never made available for public consumption, was sold at exorbitant prices on the dark web and caused “significant and irreparable harm” to her.The complaint further reads, “In 2023 alone, 45 of Ms. Grande’s unreleased songs were hacked, stolen, and leaked by Defendants. Hundreds of similar leaks have occurred since her debut in 2011.”
Ariana Grande has more than 100 complaints against her
The singer’s official complaint list lists more than 100 people. This involves hackers, people who purchase material online on the dark web, and other individuals and businesses accused of illegally distributing their content without permission.According to People magazine, Grande wants serious action. A statement included in the report said: “This lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent to this type of behavior in the future — not just against Ariana, but against the many artists who face similar privacy violations and theft of creative works. Artists should have the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world. The illegal theft and dissemination of creative works undermines that right and should not be tolerated.”The complaint details how hackers accessed her unpublished content, noting that in one instance they gained access to the Dropbox account of a photographer she had worked with. They also created fake email IDs to get technicians to share unpublished photos with them.As of this writing, Ariana Grande has yet to respond directly to the incident.
