To commemorate the auspicious Brahma Muhurat, the trailer was released on the official YouTube page of the film at 4:15 am. The team later shared the trailer with the tagline: “Ramayana trailer. This is where the epic begins.”

Musically, the collaboration between Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman proves to be one of the trailer’s biggest highlights. Like Rama, the Oscar-winner’s music plays a big role in elevating the emotional moments in the trailer and the film as a whole. The visual effects work handled by DNEG delivers legendary graphics and seamless CGI that blend naturally with the live-action performances.

Ramayana has one of the largest casts in Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash makes his Bollywood debut as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.The cast also includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Vivek Oberoi Starring Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Adinath Kothare as Bharata and Anupam Kher as the voice of Jatayu.
