Ather Energy has launched the 450X Overtones Series in India, bringing cosmetic updates and a fast charging option to its popular electric scooter. Priced from Rs 1.57 lakh, the ex-showroom, entry-level convertible gets three new color options, a more powerful recorder and the latest Atherstack software interface, while the hardware package remains unchanged.The biggest visual change comes in the form of the new Overtones Series, which introduces three new paint colors: White, Space Gray and Lunar Grey. Buyers who opt for the new models will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.Apart from the new models, Ather has also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now comes with a 900W charger instead of the original 700W. The company claims that the new charger can reduce charging time by around 30 percent.The 450X Overtones Series also comes with the latest Atherstack 7 software. It features Voice on Air, which allows riders to use voice commands for things like navigation, finding a place to drive and adjusting the ambient lighting. The app also introduces a number of safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects accidents and sends messages to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which warns users when parking in theft or towing areas, and LockSafe, which allows owners to immobilize the scooter through the Ather app.Ather has also highlighted its Halo smart helmet creation, which integrates the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard and helmet for hands-free communication and audio functions.By the way, the scooter is completely unchanged. The update only adds cosmetic improvements, software improvements and fast charging, with no changes made to the electronics or functionality.
