Police traced the suspect through inquiries
According to Thanthi TV, Ravi Mohan lodged a complaint with Nilankarai police on June 22 after discovering a diamond necklace and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash missing from his residence. Based on the complaint, the police registered a CSR and initiated investigation. The police separately questioned the staff and driver employed at the actor’s home. According to reports, during the investigation, the suspect fell on the driver, Rajesh, leading the police to intensify their interrogation efforts.
Cash recovered, accused sent to judicial custody
During the investigation, Rajesh allegedly admitted to misappropriating Rs 2.5 lakh in cash. The money was later returned to Ravi Mohan, police said. Despite his recovery, officials took legal action against the accused. Neelankarai police formally arrested Rajesh on charges of theft, produced him in court and later remanded him in custody. The investigation into the missing diamond necklace is expected to continue as police investigate all aspects of the case.
