Translated into English, it reads: “#ichallenthedarkness. Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji. #Punjab95. Satluj is what happened to Khalra Saab.” The streaming platform also addressed the film’s removal via a social media statement. “At Zee 5, we stand firmly behind Satluj and the creative vision behind it. We believe in the power of powerful storytelling to inspire, endure and leave a lasting impact. We remain committed to championing authentic and meaningful narratives,” the platform said. They did not specify why the film was unavailable in India, but added: “Given the current developments, Satluj will not be available to stream in India until further notice.” We remain committed to exploring all appropriate avenues through due process to get the film back into the hands of our audiences at the earliest opportunity. “Our commitment to our creators and telling stories with conviction, artistic integrity, and purpose remains unwavering,” they concluded their statement. “The post was captioned: “Satluj may have been on hiatus. But the conversation hasn’t started yet. Thank you for the incredible love. We hope to bring it back soon.”Earlier on Sunday, former cricketer and Congress MP Harbhajan Singh described the film as a must-watch.Recently, Diljit reflected on the emotional toll of making the film in an interview. In an interview with Variety India, he said: “Honestly, this was one of the hardest films I have ever done in my career. It sucks everything out of all of us, emotionally and physically. The days are long, the conditions are difficult, and the scene is tense. But in the end, it was the nature of the subject matter that really attracted me. I think this was probably the first movie in my career that required me to recover after shooting.“He added, “After the film, I move on quickly because I don’t like taking breaks. However, after the film, I had to take a week off to process everything that I went through as Jaswant Singh Khalra. There were aspects of the setting, emotion, and characters that lingered, so it took me some time to get over that. “Director Honey Trehan and the producers insist the film is based on documented events. The controversy also affected its festival tour, with the film being withdrawn ahead of its scheduled premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Apart from Diljit and Arjun, Kanwaljit Singh, Surwinder Vicky and Geetika Vidya Orian also star in key roles in the film.
