Mercedes-Benz India has reported its highest ever sales in the first and second half, continuing its growth in the country’s luxury car market. The German luxury car maker also sold 9,768 vehicles between January and June 2026, registering a 9% year-on-year increase over the 9,013 units sold in the same period last year.The company also posted its best performance for the second quarter, selling 4,637 vehicles between April and June 2026, up 10 percent from 4,238 units in Q2 2025. According to Mercedes-Benz, the high demand for the models that have just been introduced, especially the CLA BEV, along with the sustained interest in its Corery and Toprove record, Luxus Record.The Top-End Luxury range, including models such as S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-AMG, EQS SUV and the new V-Class, recorded growth of 20 percent in the first half of the year. These models accounted for 28 percent of the company’s total sales during this period. Mercedes-AMG also saw a significant growth of 50 percent.Electric vehicles he continued to attract the attention of the industry. Electric vehicles contributed 14 percent of Mercedes-Benz’s sales mix in India in Q2 2026. Within the Top-End Luxury segment, BEVs accounted for 25 percent of sales, while premium electric models priced above Rs 1.4 crore recorded a growth of 85 percent during the quarter. The company responded strongly to the new CLA BEV and EQS SUV in this process.The Entry Luxury segment also grew significantly, recording nearly 30 percent growth in Q2 2026, supported by the CLA BEV and GLA SUV. Meanwhile, the long-wheelbase E-Class has retained its position as the best-selling luxury car in India, much ahead of the E450 model.Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz India is planning to expand its sales base. The company will open five new locations, including one in Varanasi, in the third quarter of 2026. In total, 20 new locations are planned in emerging markets and major cities, with the support of more than Rs 450 crore and partners over the next two years.
