Kia Syros EV launched: Up to 80% repurchase, BaaS mode and 526 km range

Kia India has launched the Syros EV with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Syros EV will go on sale at Kia dealerships in India from July 30.The Syros EV is available with two battery options. The entry-level 42 kWh model is priced from Rs 13.49 lakh, while the larger 51.4 kWh Extended Range model starts at Rs 16.99 lakh, both ex-showroom. The range is spread across seven models, with the highest priced X-Line ER priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.It can be equipped with a 42 kWh battery that provides an ARAI approved range of 443 km and a larger 51.4 kWh battery that provides a range of 526 km. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor that produces 171 PS, while the battery-powered version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. Kia also claims a fast DC charging time of 39 minutes for a 10-80 percent charge using a 100 kW charger. The SUV also has a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger, battery management and EV functions such as regenerative braking and i-Pedal mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Battery Heating System. The most popular feature of the Syros EV is the ownership package. Kia offers a 15-year Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty with unlimited kilometers, as well as a guaranteed purchase program promising up to 80 percent resale value after three years of initial purchase. The company has also launched a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, allowing customers to purchase the car from Rs 7.99 lakh with battery payments starting at Rs 3.3 per kilometer. In addition, the My Convenience e-Plus package includes maintenance, extended warranty and roadside assistance.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control. Other highlights include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected items, OTA updates, Harman Kardon eight-speaker system, air conditioning front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, rotating lighting, smart dashcam and 6-liter front 6 trunk. On the safety front, it comes with Level 2 ADAS with 16 independent functions, along with six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, 360-degree camera, front view monitor and a total of 25 safety devices.
