The countdown to the global release of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has officially begun!The main starring role of the film Ranbir Kapoor Ash and Ash arrived at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the movie’s grand trailer debut. Photos of the two actors attending the event surfaced online hours ahead of the big reveal, giving fans their first look at their cool looks before they show off their film at the pop culture convention.Dressed in Indian attire to impress, Ranbir and Yash attended a round of interviews and posed for photos with media persons before heading to the much-anticipated panel discussion of the film.
Ranbir Kapoor and Yash make stylish appearance at Comic-Con
Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, chose a bandhgala paired with dark sunglasses and an Indian flag lapel pin.Yash, who plays the villain Ravana, wore a black suit paired with a crisp black button-down shirt, showing off his gold chain and a gold shamrock as his lapel pin.Director Nitesh and producer Namit also posed with the lead actors at the event.The actors were all smiles as they greeted members of the international media at Comic-Con, billed as one of the biggest showcases for Indian cinema.
Ramayana heads to Ballroom 20
The “Ramayana” presentation is scheduled to take place in the 4,800-seat Ballroom 20, with an hour-long panel discussion moderated by entertainment reporter Coy Jandreau.Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra are also expected to join Ranbir and Yash on stage to discuss the ambitious adaptation, its vision and the process of bringing the Indian epic to the global screen.Attendees will reportedly be treated to the film’s official trailer, as well as exclusive never-before-seen footage from the presentation.The panel is scheduled to take place on July 24 between 3:15 and 4:15 a.m. IST, when the trailer is expected to premiere to San Diego Comic-Con attendees.
Ramayana gets special mention
In yet another impressive production list, Ramayana received a dedicated mention in the ‘India Highlights’ program at Comic-Con 2026. The official schedule describes the event as: “A global showcase of India’s epic legend. Ballroom 20, July 23, 2026, 3:30 pm. Team appearances, exclusive footage and Q&A. “The film is scheduled to coincide with Comic-Con and will coincide with major international franchises such as Avengers: Armageddon, The Lord of the Rings, Blade Runner 2099, The Wolverine, The Walking Dead and several other high-profile titles.
India releases trailer of Ramayana
While the Comic-Con premiere is expected to take place in the early hours of Friday (IST), a screenshot officially circulated online by PVR Pictures suggests that the trailer may be released on July 24 at 10 am via digital platforms and participating theaters.

The official synopsis for Ramayana from San Diego Comic-Con reads: “In the age of gods and kings, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice, and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the universe.”Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana and is expected to be released on Diwali 2026.
