music composer Amar Malik On Thursday, he sparked a major controversy after posting a scathing comment about a fellow composer on X (formerly Twitter) Tanishk Badji and made a series of serious accusations. While Amar didn’t mention Tanishk by name, he called him “Mr. Remix and the destroyer of originals,” leaving no doubt who he was referring to.Just days before Amar Malik’s accusations, Tanishq Baji publicly claimed that he did not receive royalties for the song of the same name from the blockbuster film “Saiyara”. Tanishq took to Instagram on Saturday to claim that despite having documents and paperwork related to the song, he is yet to receive Rs 8 lakh in royalties from the viral song. Sharing the film’s poster, the composer said he felt betrayed for not getting his due. However, the post was later deleted and Tanishk has not publicly commented on Amal’s latest accusation. In the lengthy post, Amal accused the composer of plagiarizing songs, taking advantage of paid publicity, preempting other people’s work, and unfair practices within the music industry. He also made unsubstantiated accusations of his behavior with female singers and claimed that several artists remained silent about plagiarizing songs.

Amaal Mallik calls fellow composer ‘Mr. Remixer and Destroyer of Original Works’

Amal began the post by writing: “Dear Mr. Remix and Original Vandal. Although 10 years late, I will show the world your place.”He went on to accuse the composer of using his old photos for a paid PR campaign.“You made paid PR money from the record label, but you spent it in the wrong places,” Amal wrote, also questioning why the songwriter continued to address him and call him brother.

Claims ‘Saiyaara’ title song is taken from original composer

One of Amal’s biggest accusations centered around the title track of “Saiyaara”.He claimed that the song originally belonged to composers Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami, and claimed that it was taken from them to gain a spot among the filmmakers Mohit Suriproject.Amar further claimed that if the original composer released their version titled Saiyaan Mere, people would know who the real composer of the song is.The allegations have not been independently confirmed and neither Tanishk Bagchi nor the makers of “Saiyaara” have publicly responded to them as of the time of writing.

Accused of copying songs and royalties

The composer also claimed that several songs composed by Tanishq were copied from Pakistani tracks, folk melodies, YouTube covers and works of other composers. He further claimed that artists like Jubin Nautiyal and composer Rocky Khanna chose not to raise objections on certain songs out of respect and professional relationships. In another part of the post, Amaal accused the composer of speaking out against music label T-Series and Bhushan Kumar in private while remaining silent in public.

Serious allegations about treatment of female singer

Amal also made serious, unsubstantiated accusations of the songwriter’s behavior towards female singers, claiming that multiple women had had negative experiences but had not come forward officially. These claims remain accusations made by Amal on social media, and there has been no legal complaint or official confirmation of the allegations.

End post with warning

Amar ended his post by warning the composer not to target him again.“This is a statutory warning, don’t mess with me, you will regret it,” he wrote, adding that he was not competing with any songwriters of his generation but wanted to expose what he described as unfair practices in the industry. As of press time, Tanishq Bagchi has yet to publicly respond to Amal Malik’s accusations.
