It’s been over two decades since one of Bollywood’s finest, Muhammad Ali, left for a heavenly abode. Marking the death anniversary of the great artist, his nephew Akaar Ali said: “It has been 22 years since his death, but his spirit lives on. I was 10 years old at the time. It was a rainy afternoon and many people gathered together out of respect, responsibility and love for meBade Chacha“Muhammad, affectionately known to many as Bhaijaan.”
Akal Ali shares his fondest memories of late uncle Muhammad Ali
Akar further shared in an exclusive interview with us, “I have clear memories of his farewell day at Mehboob Studios in Bandra. My father Anwar Ali played a dual role in his brother’s life as the youngest sibling and his best friend. Both relationships were fraught with emotions and responsibilities.” I witnessed many of these encounters between them and it was ironically childlike. By observing, I can relate.“Ali continued, revealing a specific memory of when Muhammad came from the United States and brought him a special gift. “It was his HEAD wooden tennis racquet, a vintage racquet that was almost 20 years old. At the time, I was on tour and playing professional lawn tennis. When I look back, my heart is filled with gratitude because he inspired me to have a passion for the sport and continues to do so now through movies,” Akar recalled.

My friends and I loved ‘Bombay to Goa’ the most because it took us into a world of its own.”““Even today, it’s the sweetest escape. You pass through the camera and become a passenger on the bus.
