actor Akshay Kumar Rajesh Sharma has expressed concern over the health of Rajesh Sharma after he was admitted to hospital after suffering a suspected insect bite during the shooting of Prabhas’s ‘Fauji’ at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.On Thursday night, Akshay shared a picture with Sharma on X and wished him a speedy recovery. “I am extremely concerned about the health of my dear friend Rajesh after he was bitten by an insect while shooting. May Mahadev bless him for a speedy and complete recovery. Jaldi theek ho ja yaar, abhi saath baith ke bhot hansna hai,” he wrote.Rajesh Sharma’s condition reportedly worsened after the incident and he was recently admitted to Manipal Hospital in Kolkata. Sharing a health update on Instagram, filmmaker and TV host Sudipa Chatterjee revealed that Sharma was bitten by an insect while chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by lush vegetation after completing his shoot at Ramoji Film City.Initially, the actor dismissed it as a minor bite and did not seek medical attention. However, nearly six hours later, he started experiencing severe pain in his right leg, according to Chatterjee. His condition reportedly worsened on a flight to Kolkata, where he developed a high fever. After landing, he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written to the Chief Minister of Telangana Ravensh Reddyrequiring high-level officials to investigate the incident. The association said in the letter, “Considering the seriousness of his condition, AICWA believes that a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to this medical emergency during the filming of Fauji is absolutely necessary. If actor Rajesh Sharma’s condition became so serious during the filming, why did the producers and production house not immediately rush him to a major hospital in Hyderabad? Was adequate emergency medical assistance provided on the set? Were all mandatory health, hygiene and workplace safety protocols followed?”The association has asked for clarification on whether production companies have adequate medical infrastructure and workplace safety measures in place during filming.
