Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler flagged the leak last month as one of the largest celebrity-related leaks to date.

According to The Sun, Jeremiah Fowler, who is familiar with the breach, found that the database contained nearly 666,000 records from 2019 to 2026, including marketing materials such as press releases stored on the cloud system. One of the backup files called “Contacts” contains personal information. All records related to New York’s annual Tribeca Film Festival, which Robert De Niro launched in 2002. Other victims include Danny Boyle, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Douglas, George Lucas and others.Fowler attributed the leak to human error, adding, “It’s really unique because these people are so tightly guarded and they guard their personal privacy, their contacts, their phone numbers.” It’s not yet known when the details were exposed on the Internet. Additionally, after he contacted festival directors, the information was removed from public channels.“What’s really interesting is there’s a folder that captures their device information based on the email. It says what version of iPhone they’re using, whether they’re using Safari, what version of software they’re using. That could give the bad guys a lot of additional information,” he added of the leak.Jeremiah Fowler believes nothing wrongdoing was done by the hackers or scammers, as evidence of ransomware or automated logging often emerges. The incident has raised concerns about personal and professional information stored in the cloud and its security.
