I only knew Marathi, I only knew Hindi, and all these NRI kids around me were Indian kids, and they were all saying, how come she doesn’t understand English? Obviously, the bullying started. I’m innocent. Just because I don’t understand the language. ” Thinking back to those days, she added, “I experienced bullying. I feel like it’s all about cutting out the noise and focusing on our goals. It’s going to be hard; it’s going to hurt, but that pain will push you to grow. Honestly, without this, my English wouldn’t be as good as it is. If they weren’t bullying me for my English, right? So I choose to look at it this way. I believe that every negative thing in our lives helps make the positive things stronger. “
