Seaman said in a statement that manufacturers should immediately reconsider the references used in the announcements. Highlighting the importance of Murugan in Tamil culture, as reported by Cinema Vikatan, he said, “There is a Tamil proverb: ‘Where there are mountains, there is Kumaran’, which itself reflects the deep connection between Lord Murugan and Tamil Nadu. Murugan’s six residences and countless hill temples across the state are testament to this legacy.”” He further added, “Tamils and Tamil people have always had the power to establish the fact that Murugan is a unique deity closely associated with Tamil people. ” Seaman believes that changing this identity for creative or commercial reasons is unacceptable.
Seaman issues warning to film team
Seaman also urged producers not to proceed with what he said was a twisted narrative. “For commercial gain, do not interfere with symbols that represent Tamil pride and identity. We will not remain silent any longer,” he said. He further warned: “The film team must immediately abandon their attempts to fictionalize the story of Murugan’s birth in the north and present it as art. Otherwise, they will have to face severe consequences.”His comments further fueled debate about the project, with supporters and critics taking different stances on social media platforms.
Seaman calls for action if controversy continues
Seeman took the criticism further, calling on theater owners and the Tamil Nadu government to intervene if the alleged concept remains unchanged. “If the film is released with the same narrative despite widespread opposition, then theater owners across Tamil Nadu should come together and refuse to screen it,” he said, adding: “If this does not happen, Naam Tamil Lal Kutch will launch a massive protest to prevent the film from being released in the state.”Seeman concluded by urging the government not to allow the release of the Tamil or Telugu version of the film if it hurts the sentiments of Tamil people.While the makers of the Jr NTR-Trivikram project are yet to respond to the criticism officially, Seeman’s statement adds another layer of buzz to one of the most anticipated films of Telugu cinema.
