NEW DELHI: The Center has created a separate category for ex-Agniver personnel during recruitment for the posts of constables (general duties) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and recruitment in the Assam Rifles for the posts of riflemen. The new regulations include reservation of 50 per cent vacancies, age relaxation and exemption from several stages of the recruitment process.Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai shared this information while replying to a question in the Lok Sabha. The announcement outlines the recruitment benefits available to former Agniveers under the new category.Booking and age relaxation rulesAccording to the Home Ministry, ex-servicemen will be given reservation for 50 per cent of the vacant posts for the notified posts of CAPF Constable (General Duty) and Assam Rifles Rifleman.The government has also relaxed the upper age limit prescribed for former Agniveer candidates by three years. Furthermore, candidates belonging to the first batch of Ex-Agniveers will be eligible for five-year relaxation beyond the prescribed upper age limit.Waivers during the recruitment processThe new recruitment policy also allows Ex-Agniveers to be exempted from Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written examination for these posts.The ministry said these provisions have been introduced under the newly created Ex-Agniveer category in the recruitment process for CAPF and Assam Rifles.MHA sets up dedicated wingThe Ministry of the Interior has also established a dedicated “Pre-Agnèville” unit to coordinate the further development of “Pre-Agnèville”.According to the written reply, the first group of Agnivirs had not yet completed their tour of duty. Specialized units were established to facilitate coordination related to their future development after completion of service.Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai gave the details in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
