Why Firoz Nadiadwala keeps pushing for more actors
In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Samji spoke about the film’s unusually large cast and explained that the script itself required a huge cast. He recalls, “The film is about a group of actors who come to a village. Even today, Firoz bhai (producer) is not content with just 34 actors. He always says, ‘Bring in more people. Make the scale bigger. We need scale.'” The proportions come from the faces you see on screen. He is so enthusiastic. He kept saying, “The audience is going to love it,” and that’s exactly what happened. In each frame, there are seven actors standing here, eight actors there, and four actors standing somewhere else. This has become one of the biggest unique selling points behind Welcome’s success. “
The script itself requires a huge team
He added that the script itself required a large cast, noting, “The script required 20 to 25 actors, along with the male and female leads, to all arrive in the village. That’s how we cast.”

Samji also spoke about Akshay Kumar’s mentality after some of his recent films did not perform well. He said, “Akshay’s philosophy is simple: keep moving forward. I’ve never seen him sit down and evaluate the failures because he gets frustrated or lets them affect him deeply. Everyone wants every film to be a huge success, but that doesn’t always happen. I’ve never seen Akshay Kumar sitting there and saying, ‘Oh, crap, what happened?’ He always said, ‘Just keep moving forward in life.’This is what I learned from him. He is a star and he will always be a star. “
