Delhi witnessed around 50,000 protesters taking to the streets for the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march, walking from Jantar Mantar to the Parliament House. As videos from the capital began circulating online, Huma Qureshi in response to reports of police brutality against students and demonstrators. The actress posted a lengthy post on Instagram, revealing that the incident left her feeling “deeply sad.”

Huma wrote on her Instagram: “Today’s images will linger in my mind for a long time. It saddens me deeply to see peaceful protesters treated with such violence and brutality. This can definitely be handled with more patience, more listening, and more dialogue.”She added, “We, the people of India, elected this government, and today we all need to ask questions and expect accountability. We are a large, diverse country. We don’t have to agree on every issue, but we can certainly agree that every citizen deserves to be heard with dignity before force becomes the response.”“Respect every student and citizen who chooses to peacefully stand up for their beliefs. Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut Slams protest
Hema Malini and Kangana Ranaut, who were present at the opening day of the monsoon session, addressed reporters and expressed their displeasure over the protests. Hema said: “If there are issues, they should be discussed. Such protests will not achieve anything. Regarding the country’s youth and education system, our Modi government has always stood by them and done a lot of work. In view of this, your current protest is meaningless.”“Kangana said, “If you feel so strongly, you should contest the elections yourself. You cannot force the government to decide who to sack and who to retain; such forcing is unacceptable. Gradually, everyone will seek refuge in the BJP and Sanatan culture because it is our own culture and everything else is borrowed from the rest of the world.”

The Jantar Mantar protest was attended by celebrities like Prakash Raj, veteran actor Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah.
