Earlier, the 66-year-old “Seinfeld” actor issued an official statement apologizing to Stodden and expressing regret for his choices in the skit.

A few days ago, Courtney Stodden posted Jason Alexander’s old 2012 skit, in which she, aged 17, had to wear a red two-piece beachsuit on camera and get into a series of explicit jokes. Alexander formally apologized to the actress and internet personality after she posted about the incident on social media and received public backlash.Now, according to a new post shared by Stoden, the actor has donated thousands of dollars to Unchained at Last, a nonprofit dedicated to ending child marriage in the United States. She shared in the post, “I want to sincerely thank him for choosing to turn words into action. Accountability is not public punishment, but taking meaningful steps to help create change. My hope has always been greater than my own story. If difficult conversations can lead to real support for organizations that protect children and end child marriage, then something positive can come out of deep pain.”Commenting further on how this should become the standard, Stodden added, “When harm is acknowledged, meaningful action has the power to help others. That’s where real change begins.” She then called on others to be inspired by the veteran actor’s actions to donate to the cause of eradicating child marriage in the country.

In 2012, when Stodden was 17, she and her husband Hutchison were invited to perform in a skit called “The Donnie Clay Show with Courtney Stodden.” In the scene, Alexander plays the role of a daytime TV doctor who talks to her and her husband. In one scene, the actor rubbed a phone against her chest and commented that there was “a lot” of signal there; however, when he did the same thing to her head, he said he couldn’t get any signal from there. Stodden shared a photo of the skit, naming the actors and all the adults involved in the show and allowing it to happen.Her post read, “I am a minor. I have no legal authority to decide whether or not I want to participate. The contract was signed by an adult,” and further added that the money was not even given to her but was instead transferred to her husband.For those unfamiliar, Courtney Stodden married actor David Hutchison with her parents’ consent, when she was just 16 and he was 51. They stayed together until their official breakup in 2017 and officially divorced in 2020. Since then, Stoden has been an outspoken advocate for ending underage marriage across the country and has publicly supported various organizations dedicated to the same cause.
