Two old interview clips have resurfaced online over the past few months, with many users pointing out that the actors gave different explanations for their whereabouts during the film’s climax.Jayaram said in an interview that he went to celebrate Diwali. In another article, he mentioned that he went to Sabarimala. The contrasting comments led to a barrage of attacks on the actor on social media.
Jayaram says he cannot blame people
Jayaram addressed the issue in an interview with Vanitha, where he admitted that he had made a mistake and explained that as time passed, he struggled to recall the exact sequence of events.He said: “I can’t blame the people. What I said was wrong. The incident happened 15 to 20 years ago. To be honest, I can’t even remember it clearly now. To be honest, I don’t remember if I’ve ever been to Madras or anywhere else. I even asked people involved in that incident and they didn’t remember it either. I was there for about five or six days. It happened 15 to 20 years ago. Perhaps these memory declines occur with age.“
clarify his relationship with tamil nadu
Jayaram also opened up about his close ties with Tamil Nadu. The actor explained that his family background naturally connects him with Kerala and Tamil Nadu.He said, “My father is from Palakkad and my mother is from Kumbakonam. My father got a job in Perubhavor so our family moved there. My grandfather was also from Perubhavor. I was born, brought up and educated there. But since my mother was not fluent in Malayalam, I always spoke to her in Tamil. Till the day she died, I spoke to her only in Tamil. Even now, I have many relatives there. I go to our family temple once a year. I made nothing up. “
Lived in Chennai for more than 30 years
Jayaram also noted that his career eventually led him to settle in Chennai, where he lived for many years.
