Kia India has unveiled the much-anticipated Syros EV. The company has also opened bookings for the electric SUV at Rs 25,000 through its official website and dealers across the country. The Syros EV is offered with two battery options and claims an ARAI-approved driving range of up to 526 km.The large 51.4 kWh battery has an ARAI certified range of 526 km. It can also be equipped with a small 42 kWh battery that provides a range of 443 km. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor that produces 171 PS, while a large battery can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.As for charging power, with a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes. The SUV also comes with a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger, battery management technology and regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode. Kia also offers a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, an Assured Buyback program and its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing solution. In terms of design, the Syros EV is mostly similar to its ICE counterpart, save for a few EV-specific features such as the Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube MFR LED headlights, Star Map LED lights, door handles and 17-inch dual-tone aeroy wheels. Customers can also opt for 16-inch wheels depending on the variant.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected items, Air-Air updates, Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio system, air conditioning front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, rotating lighting, smart 6 trunkcam and 6 front trunkcam.On the safety front, the Syros EV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS offering 16 driving functions, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist. It also gets six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist, all-wheel brakes, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor and 25 safety features.The Syros EV will be available in seven models for two battery types. Kia will offer the electric SUV in nine exterior styles along with several interior themes. Prices are still to be confirmed.
