Late actor Satish Kaushik returns as Bata Bhai in ‘Dhamaal 4’, a character who retired through CGI and AI |

Dhamaal 4 opens with an AI-remastered tribute to late actor Satish Kaushik, who played Bata Bhai, and thanks his wife Shashi Kaushik in the end credits. Jackie Shroff also makes a cameo appearance. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film reunites Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and others and features “Paisa Lao” (a reimagined “Bella Ciao”) teasing Dhamaal 5.

Dharmaal 4 hits theaters today and has generated huge anticipation thanks to its cast, interesting trailers and the long-standing popularity of the series. The film ends with a teaser for the sequel Dhamaal 5. But there’s another surprise right at the start: The movie opens with an animation that brings back the late, iconic actor Satish Kaushik As Batabai.

Satish Kaushik’s Bata Bhai recreated with CGI and AI

Kaushik first brought the character to life in Double Dhamaal (2011), the second film in the series, and his comedic antics struck a chord with the audience. Since the veteran actor’s death in 2023, makers have begun using CGI and artificial intelligence to recreate his likeness on screen. To recognize this, a thank you to his wife Shashi Kaushik is also included in the opening credits.

Jackie ShroffSecond special appearance

Jackie Shroff also appears in this animated sequence, marking his second special turn in the “Dhamaal” universe. He previously voiced the voice of a GPS system, a Tabori-style navigation device, in Total Dhamaal (2019), the third installment in the series Ajay DevganThe character took the fastest route, polarizing the audience.

“Paisa Lao”: Bella Ciao Re-created

Another highlight of the film is the song “Paisa Lao”, a new take on the Italian song “Bella Ciao”, which became famous worldwide after appearing in the cult series “Money Heist”. This version is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and sung by Neeraj Shridhar.
