Nivea B. Hamilton, better known by her stage name Nivea, recently shared some updates on her health. The R&B singer revealed in an interview that she has been diagnosed with blood cancer and has been undergoing treatment for some time. Her biggest hits over the years include “It’s Complicated,” “The Laundromat” and “Don’t Mess with My Man.”
Singer Nivea reveals she has leukemia
While hosting the latest episode of the “Cadillac Chronicles” podcast, the singer revealed more details about her cancer diagnosis and her life since. The 44-year-old, when asked about everything she’s truly grateful for this year, shared: “First of all, I was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year and I’m so thankful to God. I’ve been going to therapy and so far so good. I hope this continues. Amen, amen, amen. “She shared that she feels “grateful” for life and always approaches everything with a positive attitude. She added, “It’s so cliche to say you don’t know time and time, but it’s true and it helps me put a lot of things into perspective and I live in gratitude, like religiously, and I’m grateful for everything.”The singer did not provide further details about her diagnosis. She did say, however, that she’s committed to doing things her own way, and that she’s getting back to her music as well. As for other new things she’s doing in life, the singer shared, “I’m going to school to study audio engineering. I’ve always wanted to learn how to do engineering, especially mixing engineering.” The Grammy-nominated singer further concluded that she’s “just grateful and taking every opportunity that comes my way.Nivea is a mother of three: Navy Talia, whom she and The-Dream welcomed in 2005, and sons London and Christian, born in 2006.
