Speaking to the audience at the Obsessed Fest Panel following the release, Reinhart revealed how she got the script. According to People magazine, the actress revealed that she had not read Hazelwood’s book when she received the script.She also added, “The script was brought to me. I hadn’t read the book, but as soon as I got the script, I read the script, and then I went and read the book, and then I was convinced to do it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to do a romantic comedy, but pretty quickly I was sold on the idea.” She co-stars Tom BatemanHe also weighed in on the matter, saying that he wasn’t sure about making a romantic comedy; however, he “read the book and fell in love with the characters and the world.”Speaking about her favorite thing about the book and working on What If, Reinhart added, “I think it felt as much as possible like a really timeless romantic comedy. I think that’s how the script felt to me, while still keeping the integrity of both characters and doing justice to the book. Obviously, the importance of the book – it’s the source material that we wanted to completely honor, [which] I think our writer Sarah definitely nailed it. So, yes, the heart of the book is in the movie. “

Reinhart also added that she’s aware of people’s expectations for the film and hopes people enjoy it. She concluded: “It’s just been a year of hype. I want the fans to be happy and I want the people who haven’t read the book to be happy too.”Bateman revealed that the two of them put a lot of effort into the project, adding, “I really think it’s really difficult to adapt something into a movie because everyone who loves the book has their own idea of what the characters would be like. Everyone involved has a deep love for this book and does it justice to everyone who loves it. “
Synopsis of “Love Hypothesis”
The film, based on Ali Hazlewood’s novel, tells the story of PhD student Olive and her professor Dr. Carlson, who embark on a fake relationship to test their theories about falling in love.
