While talking about the latest episode of The New York Times podcast, “The Interview,” the legendary musician opened up about what it means to be an entertainer today. As an entertainer, his number one goal is to ensure that everyone who attends his shows has a great time.He added, “I mean, my bottom line is, my job in the live music world is just [to give] These people come here to have the best time possible and forget about all their problems and the problems of the world and their mortgages and whatever for two hours or whatever. “

The veteran musician also added in the interview that he likes to include verses about politics and social commentary in his music; however, he knows no one wants to hear an entire song about that. Beyond that, the singer also showed how he gets inspiration from the people around him, sharing, “I also got into the habit of writing songs about personal relationships, and then I put a verse in there about politics. I think it’s a trick that I’ve learned from other songwriters, or I’ve heard other people do, because no one wants to hear a whole song about politics or…any kind of social commentary.”However, the singer also said some of his comments and jokes about politics on stage have backfired, including comments he made at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. While Uninformed was performing at the Heritage Festival, Jagger made some comments about Gov. Jeff Landry that ended up getting him into some trouble.He said at the time: “We’re a passionate bunch, aren’t we? I hope Mr. Landry enjoyed the show. You know, he was really accommodating. He is trying to take us back to the Stone Age. After Jagger’s comments went viral, the governor took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) to share his own thoughts on the singer, writing, “You can’t always get what you want.” The only person who might remember the Stone Age is Mick Jagger.
