Death of legendary playback singer S. Janaki passed away at the age of 88 indian film industry and sad music lovers. Her granddaughter Apsara Vydyula shared the news of her death through her social media account. Shortly after the news was announced, the entertainment industry expressed their condolences.

Mammootty posted a brief but touching message on Facebook to express her condolences. “RIP,” the actor wrote.Mohanlal shared a detailed tribute in which he discussed S. Janaki’s extraordinary musical journey. His post, which was translated into English, read: “India’s Nightingale Janakima has left us. She was an ocean of emotions who composed countless unforgettable songs in Malayalam, Hindi and several other languages, enriching the entire era of Indian music.” The ‘Drishyam’ star added: “She was a truly blessed singer who filled the hearts of Malayalees with timeless melodies that continue to resonate across generations. I will always be grateful to Janakima as she was the star of my debut film Manjil Virinja The voice behind Pookkal’s songs. Through her sweet and soulful voice, she imbued every human emotion – joy, sadness, innocence and everything in between, and I was lucky enough to be a part of many memorable song sequences that she dubbed.” Mohanlal concluded: “She was kind-hearted and gentle and treated everyone with the same warmth and respect. On a personal level, I felt a close connection with Janakima. I pray for the eternal peace of her soul.”
