Nissan India has just launched the new Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market with prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the new Tekton online or visit their nearest dealership by paying Rs 21,000, and the delivery will start from July 20. The SUV will compete with Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. The new Tekton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu. However, they differ slightly in their overall dimensions. The Tekton is 4,348mm long, 1,815mm wide and 1,674mm tall, with a 2,657mm wheelbase. In comparison, the Duster is the same length at 4,348mm and shares the same wheelbase of 2,657mm, but is 2mm shorter at 1,813mm and 18mm shorter at 1,656mm.

Another engine is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol that produces 163hp, 280Nm, and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). On the other hand, the Duster will also be offered with a 1.8-liter hybrid petrol engine with 109 hp, coupled with a 49hp electric motor and a 20hp hybrid starter generator (HSG), coupled with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined output of 160hp and 172Nm. This hybrid powertrain will be launched this holiday season.
