My aunt and father used to talk about Partition a lot and a lot of it is in this film. They would talk about its horrors and consequences. Of course, there are relatives who never talk about it, and that’s reflected in the movie. The love story is really so innocent, pure and beautiful. This is Imtiaz’s best work. He expressed love so beautifully and the news of the time – the news came so slowly, things moved so slowly. And today, news and information travel so fast.
