R Madhavan will be seen on the big screen in the upcoming biographical historical film GDN, directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, which tells the story of the life of the famous Indian inventor GD Naidu. The makers have now officially announced its theatrical release date.

The production house shared a new poster of the film on its Instagram account. They revealed in the post that the film will be released on August 7.The headline reads: “The story of a man driven by passion… fueled by legacy. #GDN launches globally on August 7th.”

Set in the pre-independence period, the film tells the story of GD Naidu’s life as an inventor, entrepreneur and dreamer. He is also known as the “Edison of India”. The makers launched the trailer in Coimbatore earlier this month. It shows how GD Naidu struggled to realize his dream despite facing many problems.Interestingly, the script of the film has been co-written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan. Meanwhile, Govind Vasantha composed the music and background score. On the other hand, Aravind Kamalanathan is the cinematographer and Bijith Bala is handling the editing.The film is scheduled to release across India in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.Following its theatrical release, the series will be available on Netflix.
