A viral video doing the rounds online claims that attendees, especially those from the Indian diaspora, received exclusive gifts from the filmmakers. However, the authenticity of the clip has not been independently verified.According to the video, the recipient received a pink display box with Prime Focus branding. Inside was a note from the Ramayana team and a golden shankha (conch shell) wrapped in soft fabric. The decorative conch features intricate carvings inspired by the epic poem Ramayana. The video went viral on social media shortly after the convention, with fans speculating whether the souvenir was officially handed out by the film’s team.
Ramayana trailer release delayed after SDCC debut

The trailer of the film was initially scheduled to be released on July 24 at 8 am IST, but the release was postponed.Explaining the decision, Malhotra said, “Today is a very special moment for us with Ramayana. In partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, my dream of taking Ramayana around the world has now become a reality. In view of the above, we will launch our trailer globally at a later date.”He further added: “This will be a proud moment in the over one hundred year history of Indian cinema, Ramayana will be screened across the world like any major global Hollywood film. This is special because it opens the door for people from around the world to discover our rich culture and our stories with new pride and enthusiasm. “Although no reason was officially given by the makers, the statement comes amid protests by students across the country over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy. There are reports that the trailer may arrive between July 29 and 31, but no official confirmation has been released.
Ramayana early previews and leaks online
Before heading to SDCC, the makers organized a special showcase during the Pratham Sankalp event in Delhi on July 18. After the preview, several purported versions of Ramayana trailers surfaced online. None of these leaked clips have been confirmed by the makers. Meanwhile, it has been reported that both versions of the trailer have been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
