Lewis Pullman has been announced as Prince Starburst, the son of Lone Starr and Princess Vespa, co-starring with his father in Spaceballs. While speaking with the audience at San Diego Comic-Con’s “Spaceballs: Newcomers” panel, the actor revealed what it was like starring in the film with his father.Pullman said he was very nervous about taking on the role, “When this came up, I thought, ‘No, no way… I can’t,’ and then Pope said, ‘Why don’t we read it? [the script]? And then I read it and thought, ‘Damn. This is great. ‘” He further added that his father was very supportive of the film and didn’t force him to do anything. “He didn’t want me to make the decision and I didn’t want to be in his shoes,” the “Very Smart Creatures” star said.Although he was initially unsure about accepting the role, Pullman added, “It was one of the funniest scripts I’ve ever read,” which ultimately led him to greenlight the project. He also recalled, “I looked at this team and I thought, ‘I’m a fool. It would be weird if I didn’t do this,’ and I was going to die saying, ‘That was a weird choice.'”
