Ted Danson, currently best known for playing Michael on The Good Place, recently gave an interview where he reflected on his career in the entertainment industry. While speaking with actor Jake Johnson on the Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, the actor was asked about his time on the beloved ’80s sitcom and how the show’s ending affected him at the time.Recalling those days, Danson shared that he had a lot going on at the time, which resulted in “Cheers” being a bit of a “blur” to him. He commented, “People say, ‘What was that like? What did you do after ‘Cheers’ ended?’ I said, ‘I made such a mess of my life that I didn’t even realize ‘Cheers’ was over.” “The 78-year-old actor revealed that a lot was going on in his life at the time, which greatly affected his career and daily life. He shared, “I wanted to stop being a liar. I barely knew myself. I wanted to mature emotionally. I wanted to make a huge change, and that’s what I did.” For those unfamiliar, Danson and his second wife, Cassandra “Kathy” Coates, filed for divorce the same year Cheers ended. On top of that, the actor found himself making headlines for his romance with an actress, Whoopi Goldberg.As for how he got better? The actor credits this to a mentor he was visiting in Long Beach, California at the time. While he didn’t mention the person’s name on the podcast, he shared that they helped him, mentored him, and gave him “a whole different kind of therapy, a spiritual thing.”
Ted Danson’s last project
The 78-year-old star was last seen in “The Man Within,” in which he co-starred with wife Mary Steenburgen. The two starred together in “Pontiac Moon” and tied the knot in 1995. In an old interview with People magazine about Steenburgen’s casting for the second season of his show, Danson revealed that he was happy to hear the news. He added, “We both love being actors; we both love the process. So we spent two and a half months getting up together, going to work early, but giggling the whole time because of the things we were going to say and do.” This is indeed a great opportunity. “In a separate interview, Danson spoke to USA Today about the same thing, adding: “It’s so much fun to fall in love with someone you’re madly in love with. It’s so cute how you just blend into each other. “
