In his video, Benedict directly questions the double standards surrounding the reaction to the song. “I saw people praising Yash, filling his comments with fire emojis on his appearance, and saying how amazing he looked. But when it came to Kiara Advani, she became the butt of the joke. People said, ‘Oh, she just got married, she’s a mother, she’s on her honeymoon, not Sidharth Malhotra.’ Seriously?” he said. He further added, “Yes, he is also married and has children. So why are only women being abused while men are apparently getting the applause? Listen, this is a reality check. They are actors. Their job is to act, to create characters and make you believe they are in love, even if they are not.” Benedict also argued that these criticisms had nothing to do with Kiara’s performance. “They’re not criticizing her because of her performance. They’re criticizing her because she’s someone’s wife, someone’s mother. As if marriage somehow means an actress should stop acting. That’s ridiculous. The problem isn’t her professionalism. The problem is the double standards and hypocrisy of her attackers,” he said.
