Roger Federer remained the last man sitting in the Royal Box watching Wimbledon action on Center Court on Monday.Arthur Fery and Grigor Dimitrov’s contest, which ended with Fery’s triumph, did not end until after 8pm, with Alexander Zverev also to face Jiri Lehecka under the roof later. Instead of quitting midway, like most celebrities, Federer stayed out of respect for Zverev and Lehecka.Known for her grace on and off the court, the fit tennis legend was seen enjoying every dance as Zverev led 6-4, 7-5, 3-3 when play had to be stopped after reaching Wimbledon’s 11pm curfew.Also present in the Royal Box on Tuesday was tennis legend Billie Jean King, Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli, and English women’s soccer star Alessia Russo.As well as the sports stars, Comic Relief co-founder Lenny Henry, actor Ncuti Gatwa and BBC Sport director Alex Kay-Jelski were also in attendance.Take a look:As Zverev’s match continued, a few spectators made their way back to the Royal Box.The eight-time Wimbledon champion was a home crowd favorite at SW19. After beating Dimitrov, Fery expressed surprise and said he saw Federer sitting in the front row of the Royal Box while he was playing.“‘When I changed the TV in the hallways for the first match (in Center Court), the women’s match, I saw that Roger was in the Royal Box, I didn’t know he was coming. I sent a message to my team saying: “Roger is in the box, I’m pretty tight”, said Fery, as quoted by the Daily Mail.“It’s incredible to be in that position where one of the all-time greats is watching you, let alone watching me play a five-set match against Dimitrov on Center Court, Wimbledon,” he added.Fery’s impressive run at Wimbledon will take him into the top 100 world rankings.He will then face ninth seed and French Open finalist Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals.Zverev and Federer played seven times before Federer retired. The 29-year-old German has a 4-3 advantage in their head-to-head record.
