Delhi University (DU) has made one of the biggest changes in its postgraduate admissions system, introducing a one-year master’s program for the first time. Eligible candidates can submit their applications before July 11.
Launched 46 one-year PG courses
In a major academic expansion, Delhi University will admit 46 one-year postgraduate courses this year. These courses are designed for students graduating from DU within the four-year undergraduate framework. The launch of these programs marks a major shift from the university’s long-standing two-year graduate model and creates a new pathway for eligible students to complete a master’s degree in one academic year.
More than 1,100 new seats added to graduate admissions
The newly launched one-year course will have more than 1,100 places in various subjects. Apart from this, Delhi University will continue to enroll students in its 74 two-year postgraduate courses, which have a total of around 13,500 seats. With the two sets of projects running simultaneously, the university will enroll approximately 14,600 graduate student places in the 2026 enrollment cycle, significantly increasing the overall graduate enrollment scale.
Existing two-year plan remains unchanged
The establishment of a one-year master’s program will not affect existing graduate programs. The university will continue to admit students to the two-year program under its current admissions process. The new one-year course is an additional academic option for eligible graduates, allowing both program structures to operate in parallel.
Registration deadline is July 11
The online registration window for graduate admissions is currently open, and the school has set July 11 as the last date to submit applications. This year’s postgraduate admissions drive marks a major shift in the academic landscape of Delhi University with the launch of one-year master’s programs and an expanded seat matrix.
