While discussing the film, director Tiwari teased fans that the film is slated to release on Diwali 2026 and will make them count down the days until Diwali 2027.

In an interview with IGN, the director revealed that Ramayana Part 1 will have a “gripping” ending. Talking about the decision to split the story into two films, Tiwari said: “What we left in the first part, you can call it suspense, will make people want to watch the second part when they leave the theater.”“Its story needed two parts and couldn’t be told in just one. We just thought that was probably the best part and we could leave that for part one and the rest for part two,” the filmmakers explained.

The news was announced during the film’s July 24 panel, where the team, including producer Namit Malhotra, shared exclusive clips from the film and interacted with fans. The project generated a huge response after being showcased at Comic-Con, where attendees were treated to exclusive footage from the film.Leaked clips from the event, especially Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, went viral on social media, triggering a wave of excitement among fans. The official trailer of the film was originally scheduled to be released after its premiere at Comic-Con on July 24, however, the producers announced a postponement of the trailer after Sony Pictures stepped in to handle the film’s global distribution outside India.
