DU CSAS UG 2026 third round schedule announced; mid-term registration starts from August 3, with more than 71,000 confirmed admissions

Delhi University has released the CSAS UG mid-term admissions schedule 2026 and third round undergraduate seat allotment. Eligible candidates can register for mid-term admission from August 3 to 5, while the Round 3 allocation will be announced on August 8. Meanwhile, the university has confirmed admissions to more than 71,000 undergraduate students for the 2026-27 academic year.

Delhi University (DU) has announced the schedule for the next phase of undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) 2026, outlining the schedule for mid-term registration and third-round seat allotment. In addition to the new admissions plans, the university reported that more than 71,000 candidates have confirmed their undergraduate offers for the 2026-27 academic year.As per the latest notification, candidates who did not avail the previous admission round or want to apply for future rounds have another opportunity along with the guidelines for ward quota admission and seat upgrade.

DU announces ward quota allocation and seat upgrade schedule

As per the official schedule, the revised allotment and first allotment list of ward quota will be uploaded on the CSAS UG 2026 portal on August 1.After the allocation list is announced, the review and confirmation of candidates’ applications will continue until August 3. Admitted candidates must pay the admission fee before August 4.The university advises candidates to stay updated with admission-related procedures on the admissions portal.

Seat allocation for the third round on August 8

The third round of CSAS UG 2026 coaching will begin on August 8 after the seat allotment list is announced. Candidates for the third round of allocation of seats must accept the allocation between August 8 and August 11 (11:59 pm). Once the admissions window closes, the university will have until August 12 to verify and approve applications.The final deadline for third-round candidates to pay the admission fee has been set as August 13 (11:59 pm).After the first two rounds of admissions are completed, the third round is expected to fill a large number of vacant undergraduate seats across colleges and programs.

Mid-term registration will begin on August 3

In order to take care of students who are unable to participate in early admissions, DU will open the registration window for mid-term admissions from August 3.The registration process will remain open until August 5th (11:59pm). Candidates who fail to register during the first or second round or are unable to complete the admission process despite registering will be eligible but will be required to pay an additional intermediate registration fee of Rs 1,000.The university said the mid-term admissions rule was introduced to ensure that eligible candidates are not excluded from the admissions process due to missed deadlines or incomplete applications.

Mid-course admission is not available for some categories

DU, in a notification issued on July 29, clarified that the intermediate admission facility will not be available for admission to certain special categories and program-specific quotas.These include:

DU admissions exceed 71,000 points

The university also made great progress during this year’s admissions cycle. As of 6:30 pm on July 29, a total of 71,342 students have confirmed their undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year.Of these, 25,088 candidates exercised the “step-up” option, indicating their willingness to be considered for admission to a higher preference college or program in subsequent rounds.Meanwhile, 32,233 students opted for the ‘freeze’ option after the second round, indicating that they were happy with the colleges and courses they were allotted and did not wish to participate in further seat allotment.The data shows that while a large number of students have secured admission to their first choice, thousands more are seeking better academic options through the remaining rounds of counseling.

The academic conference has begun

The undergraduate academic session for the academic year 2026-27 started on July 28, and various colleges of Delhi University conducted orientation activities for the newly admitted students.Candidates appearing for the upcoming admission round or opting for mid-term admission can get the latest notifications, schedules and admission-related updates through the official CSAS UG admissions portal of the university.
