India Yamaha Motor has entered the convertible motorcycle segment with the launch of the FZ Blue Flex at a starting price of Rs 1,24,240, ex-showroom. The new motorcycle is designed to run on ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E85.The FZ Blue Flex is based on Yamaha’s popular FZ platform and uses a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has been modified to support higher ethanol blends. The engine produces 11.3 bhp of power and 12.8 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Yamaha says the motorcycle is designed to run on a variety of ethanol blends without compromising everyday performance.In terms of design, the FZ Blue Flex retains the familiar FZ look. It has LED projector headlamp with integrated lamps, fuel tank with aerodynamic design, integrated exhaust, sharp LED tail lamp and one-piece seat. This motorcycle is available in Metallic Black paint scheme.The hardware package has not changed. Suspension duties are handled by front telescopic forks and rear monoshock, while braking is aided by single-channel ABS. The bike also comes with an LCD instrument cluster, although it doesn’t offer features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation or controls.The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex will be sold through Blue Square dealerships across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
