While the latest film marks Akshay’s return to the franchise, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, who play the iconic roles Uday Shetty and Majnu Bhai do not appear in this chapter.

Akshay Kumar hints at reunion

Talking to PTI about the future of the series, Akshay said that every member of the Welcome family will continue to be in close contact. He also said another sequel could reunite the original cast. He said: “Welcome is a complete family. It’s Nana, Anil sir, me and everyone. It’s like a family. If Welcome 4 is made, you will find them all.”

Why Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are missing

The original version of Welcome starred Nana Patekar as Uday Shetty and Anil Kapoor as Majnu Bhai. Their performance was a huge hit and made the duo some of Bollywood’s most memorable comedy characters. While Nana and Anil returned in 2015’s Welcome Back, Akshay Kumar did not appear in the sequel. With Welcome to the Jungle , the tables are turned. Akshay returns as the protagonist of the series, while Nana and Anil are absent from this installment. Instead, the film introduces two fresh characters tied to the iconic gangster. Sunil Shetty Played the role of Yeda Anna, while Arshad Warsi Playing Romeo. The two play the brothers of Uday Shetty and Majnu Bhai respectively, expanding the comic universe of the series.director Ahmed Khan The absence of Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor has also been addressed. He revealed to the same portal that the two actors remained supportive throughout the production process and regularly checked in on the film’s progress. Sharing one such interaction, Ahmed said, “We were talking all the time. We were on the phone a lot during the shoot. Nana just called and asked, ‘How’s it going? When are you going to show me the film? Tell Akshay I’m not available.’They kept calling and talking. Mr Anil called and said: ‘How’s it going?
