During this period, X banned a total of 5,08,155 accounts in India. In addition, the platform has received approximately 14,421 complaints from Indian users through its grievance redressal mechanism. In addition, approximately 41 requests for account suspension were made.
“After reviewing the specific circumstances, we overturned the suspension on one of the accounts. The remaining reported accounts remain suspended,” the company mentioned in its statement.
“During the reporting period, we received 71 requests related to general account issues,” it added.
X Blocking accounts for policy violations is nothing new. Between December 26 and January 25, the platform banned approximately 2.31 215 accounts in India. During the same period, the company banned 1,945 accounts for promoting terrorism on its platform.
