Adam McKay expresses hope of working with Will Ferrell again

In an interview with Business Insider, Adam McKay admitted that he misses working with Ferrell. When asked if he’d like to work with him again, the filmmaker happily admitted that he’d been open to the idea for some time.“We’ve always gotten along really well and we’re great creative partners. The only time there was a falling out between us was when we decided to end our production company, Gary Sanchez. I know it was reported one way or the other, but that’s what it is,” he admitted, while also providing insight into why they stopped working together in the first place.“It’s a shame because we have a great creative partnership. I think we both underestimated the complexity that comes with not just having a company, but a very successful company,” he added, further sharing that the two of them work on a lot of projects under the company’s umbrella and that they have a process with each other.

Adam McKay says Will Ferrell doesn’t find it funny anymore

McKay revealed that Ferrell was never one to look to exclusively producing content, and after a while it became too much. He added, “I was definitely the one who wanted to produce, but the life of a movie star is very different from the life of a writer-director. So we broke up. But life goes on. We got along great. I certainly don’t have any hard feelings, and who knows, we’ll see what happens.” He added that Ferrell was never enthusiastic about the company.
