Veteran Tamil film producer, actor and screenwriter K Bhagyaraj was cremated with state honors at Besant Nagar Electric Crematorium in Chennai on Sunday, a day after he passed away due to cardiac arrest. He is 73 years old.On Sunday, Bhagyaraj’s body was taken to the crematorium in a funeral procession through the streets of Chennai. Actors R Parthiban and R Sarathkumar carried the coffin along with his family members during the procession. The entourage was accompanied by flowers with the words “With your love, Bhagyaraj” engraved on them and a photo of Bhagyaraj and his ex. tamil nadu Chief Minister Ramachandran.Before cremation, Bhagyaraj was awarded full state honors in recognition of his immense contribution to Tamil cinema. His last rites were performed in the presence of family members, colleagues and close friends from the industry.Bajiraj’s final journey witnessed the grief of family, colleagues, political leaders and thousands of admirers who gathered to bid farewell to one of Tamil cinema’s most influential storytellers. One of the most emotional moments was when Dhanush broke down while paying tribute, with footage of the actor struggling to hold back tears widely shared on social media.Shortly after news of his death broke on Saturday, condolences poured in from the film and political circles.
